Redelivery USNS HAYES

On February 28, 2008, 3PSC redelivered the USNS Hayes to the Military Sealift Command.  After 37 years of service the USNS Hayes is scheduled to be stricken as a Navy ship and used as a part of a deep water artificial reef sometime after September 30, 2008.  The ship will be processed at the Navy Inactive Ship Maintenance Facility in Philadelphia.  For the remainder of FY08 the ship will be operated by another ship operator. 

LMSRs Return From Voyages

Both G Class LMSRs return from voyages in support of Iraqi Freedom.  The USNS Gilliland discharged in Charleston, SC before returning to its layberth.  The USNS Gordon discharged cargo in Beaumont, TX before returning to its layberth.
